At the Multimedia University Awards 2008 taking place at Dewan Seri Negeri, Malacca, Dynamic Team Singapore of Usrah Institution (UI), Cyberjaya Multimedia University, won the ‘Best Community Service/Humanitarian Award’. Nominated for two other awards, ‘Best Exposition Program’ and ‘Best Interest Based Club’ awards, Usrah Institution is a very active society and one of the pioneer clubs in Multimedia University offering program and activities to students to enhance their knowledge about Islam and Community.

From 2 nd June 2008 to 6 th June 2008, UI collaborated with Jamiyah Singapore to organize a charity and research program. This program participants consists of 18 students; Mohd Izuan bin Mustaffa (Program Director), Muhammad Ifwan bin Md Jalal (Head of Technical), Mohd Fakhrurazi bin Mohd Yusuf, Yussamir bin Yusof , Shahrul Nizam bin Mohd Faeek, Muhammad Khalid bin Norazmi, Muhammad Ikhwan bin Affandi, Muhammad Naim bin Mukhtar, Badruz Nasrin bin Basri, Mohd Nurrais bin Basri, Syed Huzaifah, Edry Al-Faisal, Wan Nurul Azmina binti Wan Azmi (Program Secretary), Ikhwan Nazri, Nur Azleen binti Kassim, Farah Adwina binti Alias, Noor Azlina binti Mustaffa and Nur Shuhada Mohamed Fauzi, and one accompanying faculty, Ustaz Toha bin Muhammad.
The objectives of the program are to develop integration among students and get to know the society in Singapore, create awareness among the youths on their roles and moral responsibilities in nation building, participate in knowledge sharing, and create a long term collaboration between Multimedia University and Jamiyah Singapore.
The team conducted a multimedia workshop for the senior residents and played group activities for the junior residents at Jamiyah Children’s Home, They also volunteered for the Flag Day to collect donation for the Home at Causeway Point, Woodlands.
The team had a friendly futsal match at Jamiyah Halfway House between them and the residents. They also had the chance attend the morning meeting which is a daily program for the residents to speak out their feelings.
Their program at Jamiyah Home for the Aged started off with a brief tour of the Home followed by a free and easy session where they mingled around with the residents. They held a cultural night show for the residents from Jamiyah Home for the Aged, Jamiyah Halfway House and Jamiyah Children’s Home to show their appreciation for the cooperation and support given throughout the program.
